As with landscapes, I enjoy working from life when I paint figures. I find the human form endlessly fascinating and challenging, so whether I am painting a man or woman, the full figure or simply the head, I strive not only to create three dimensionality by my use of shadow, line, and color, but also to capture the mood of the sitter.
